The Nimsoft Monitoring Unified Architecture, depicted above, is comprised of fully integrated data collection, server, and presentation and reporting layers. Customers and partners can extend each of these layers via Nimsoft Unified Monitoring APIs. Following is more information about each of these layers:
- The data collection layer. This layer can collect performance and quality of service data and statistics—not only from traditional datacenter components, but also from cloud and SaaS providers, as well as from other instances of Nimsoft at hosted and managed service providers. In addition, the data collection layer is also extensible to aggregate additional types of data sources, including power usage and environmental data.
- The application layer. This layer of the Nimsoft Unified Monitoring architecture is comprised of an integrated set of solutions—including business service and SLA management, event correlation and root cause analysis, and performance and availability management. This layer also delivers full workflow and process automation capabilities. These solutions are extensible via Unified Monitoring APIs, featuring bi-directional data integration into related IT service management applications such as configuration management databases and service desks.
- The presentation layer. This layer delivers complete portal and reporting capabilities that enable the monitoring and management of business application delivery, across internal and external infrastructures. Nimsoft delivers standard and easily customized reports, dashboards, and consoles. The presentation layer is extensible to consolidate and display third party data and portlets.
