Application Monitoring Solutions
The Nimsoft Monitoring Solution (NMS) is a next-generation solution for monitoring the performance and availability of the entire IT infrastructure, including a complete range of applications.
NMS gathers, compiles, and analyzes performance data—and it delivers this vital information in real time via alarms, operator consoles, business dashboards, long-term trend reports, and SLA compliance reports.

Follow the links below to learn more about the applications NMS monitors.
Email/Directory Servers
- Exchange. NMS for Microsoft Exchange monitors all Microsoft Exchange server resources and services, including outgoing mail delivery, incoming mail receipt, and total round trip (send/receive) response times. In addition, it offers an effective way to track and report on an organization’s Exchange email system—enabling administrators to better enforce mailbox quotas, plan capacity, reduce over provisioning, and enhance reliability.
- Active Directory. NMS for Active Directory uses specialized software probes to periodically collect availability and performance data from Active Directory components. Status data is consolidated, analyzed, and displayed in graphical enterprise consoles, performance reports, and SLA reports.
Web Servers
- Internet Information Services. NMS for Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) provide a powerful solution for efficiently monitoring all IIS server activity throughout an organization—enabling administrators to proactively monitor and manage their IIS servers, so they can ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Apache. NMS for Apache enables organizations to centrally and comprehensively monitor all their Apache-based HTTP servers. The quality of service data provided by NMS makes it possible to detect performance trends, enabling administrators to take precautionary actions before users notice any service degradation, and so more effectively optimize performance and availability.
Collaboration
- Lotus Notes. NMS for Lotus Notes monitors Lotus Domino database integrity and availability, client-to-server connectivity, and end-user service levels with Lotus Notes applications.
- SharePoint. NMS for SharePoint supports monitoring of SharePoint 2007 servers, including Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS) and Microsoft SharePoint Services 3.0. With the SharePoint probe, administrators can define alarm thresholds and gather QoS data based on relevant events, files, file systems, performance counters, processes, services, and WMI counters.

VoIP
- Cisco VoIP. NMS monitors Cisco VoIP (Voice over IP) services and underlying infrastructure components, enabling organizations to boost performance, availability, and service level agreement compliance. NMS can monitor a range of components, including Cisco CallManager, Cisco Gateways and Gatekeepers, Cisco IP and ATA Phones, Cisco Routers and Switches, servers, firewalls, and more.
Application Servers
- Citrix. NMS for Citrix monitors Citrix Server health to ensure all processes and services are running correctly. Additionally, the solution can measure response times for published applications from an end-users perspective. NMS also comes equipped with administration capabilities, i.e. manually or automatically logging off users in a disconnected state.
- WebSphere. NMS for WebSphere monitors and reports on WebSphere enterprise environments, including single server instances and server clusters. The solution gathers detailed performance information via Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), JVM, JDBC, threads, sessions, and pools.
- WebLogic. NMS monitors the performance and availability of WebLogic servers and applications. Using modeling capabilities, NMS provides administrators with an intuitive, graphical view of the WebLogic Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) application environment.
- JBoss. NMS for JBoss Application Servers offers capabilities for comprehensively monitoring JBoss environments—including JBoss clusters and many other services typically deployed in SOA environments. NMS makes it easy to automate the continuous, comprehensive monitoring of JBoss environments.
- Tomcat. NMS for Tomcat helps organizations gain enterprise-grade performance and availability from their Tomcat servers. With NMS, administrators can centrally monitor any number of distributed servers, and ensure that any potential issues or irregularities are detected at the earliest possible stage.
- Java Virtual Machines. NMS for Java Virtual Machines (JVM) offers extensive monitoring coverage of JVM environments, collecting and storing status data at customizable intervals. With NMS, organizations can conveniently and effectively monitor a broad range of Java-based applications.
HA Servers
- Cluster Servers. With NMS for Cluster Servers, administrators can manage all components from a single, intuitive interface. Featuring support for Microsoft and Veritas high availability (HA) clustering solutions, NMS comprehensively monitors applications in clustered environments—regardless of which active node they are running on. During HA failover conditions, NMS maintains consistent, uninterrupted alarm generation and quality-of-service data, so administrators can immediately receive appropriate notification.
