Management visibility is provided through a combination of active transaction testing against the application and passive monitoring of server and component-level performance. Nimsoft monitors component-level performance to provide a complete picture of application performance and granular drill-down to the component level for problem isolation. J2EE components monitored include EJBs, JSP/Servlets (Java Server Page), JDBC connections and the JMS (Java Message Service). Performance metrics are collected for WebLogic domains, clusters, individual servers, and associated server components including execution queues, JMS session pools, JDBC connection pools, JTA transaction statistics and EJB session pools. Nimsoft automatically discovers each WebLogic domain in the specified management environment, including the servers and their deployed components and services (EJBs, JSP/Servlets, JDBC, and JMS). The discovered WebLogic environment is then populated into a hierarchical tree structure (service model) view that reflects relationships between applications, services and components. This view provides an end-to-end view of the managed WebLogic environment and enables drill-down from top-level service problems to component-level faults. Through these capabilities, the Nimsoft product provides complete availability and system health metrics for each WebLogic domain (cluster), server, component and service. It delivers a real-time view of WebLogic application infrastructure health in the context of the business applications and processes supported on WebLogic.
