John Qualls, President and CEO, BlueLock John Qualls is an accomplished business leader who has spent his entire career developing and promoting innovative technology solutions that drive and enable business growth and profitability. He has helped hundreds of organizations solve their operational challenges by developing predictable and controlled approaches to infrastructure deployment and investment. From his early roots in application development, data center collocation, managed network services and disaster recovery, he offers a keen understanding of the last decade’s technological trends and cycles that have evolved into today and tomorrow’s hosted IT environments.
Once thought to be a futuristic service model, "Infrastructure as a Service" was commercialized and brought to the market by John as a more-effective, more-efficient and more-affordable approach to technology investment and management. In his role as president and CEO of BlueLock, he is responsible for developing and leading the company’s long-term business strategy, managing day-to-day operations, establishing a national footprint and achieving profitability goals.
Prior to co-founding BlueLock, John served as the vice president of sales and marketing for a traditional (co-location) hosting provider where he was responsible for expanding the organization regionally and increasing market awareness for the company's data center, network support services and disaster recovery solutions. Through his leadership role in TechPoint's professional IT peer group, Indiana’s only statewide information technology association, John helped educate the Indiana technology community about critical issues such as spam, cyber security, wireless networks, IT certification, power supply issues, IT research and development, data storage, unified messaging, Voice over IP (VoIP) and open source application development. In addition to his technological industry experience, John served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and is a decorated Gulf War veteran.
