Fujitsu adds Nimsoft monitoring, service desk to cloud offering

The 451 GroupFujitsu and CA Technologies' Nimsoft division have announced a partnership that will add Nimsoft's IT service monitoring and service desk applications to Fujitsu's Global Cloud Platform as IT Management as a Service (ITMaaS). Fujitsu will offer Nimsoft Monitor and Nimsoft Service Desk, which are multi-tenanted, as cloud services hosted from Fujitsu's datacenters.

Convergence gathers pace as Nimsoft adds DCIM to IT monitoring

The introduction of Nimsoft ecoMeter is something of a milestone in the evolution of digital infrastructure management. This is the first time IT and DCIM have been incorporated in a single product and delivered (usually) as a service.

The 451 GroupIT service monitoring company Nimsoft has been steadily building up its capabilities – and its customer base – since it was acquired by CA Technologies in 2010. It has now taken another step forward, integrating the core functions of CA's ecoMeter datacenter infrastructure management (DCIM) system into Nimsoft Monitor, its comprehensive IT monitoring and management system. Nimsoft ecoMeter is based on the core components of CA's ecoMeter (a more comprehensive DCIM product aimed at large datacenter operators). Managers use ecoMeter to monitor and analyze real-time data about power consumption and environmental conditions, such as humidity, temperature, airflow etc.

Nimsoft gets service desk, new leadership and more customer momentum

The 451A lot has been happening at Nimsoft in its second year as part of CA Technologies. There's been an expansion into IT service management (ITSM) via the acquisition of InteQ as well as a change in leadership, with Chris O'Malley coming from CA proper to replace Gary Read as CEO. But Nimsoft continues to grow and expand its footprint in the managed service provider (MSP) space, which is driving most of its business. Nimsoft is also winning more deals in Asia and Latin America.
