The introduction of Nimsoft ecoMeter is something of a milestone in the evolution of digital infrastructure management. This is the first time IT and DCIM have been incorporated in a single product and delivered (usually) as a service.
IT service monitoring company Nimsoft has been steadily building up its capabilities – and its customer base – since it was acquired by CA Technologies in 2010. It has now taken another step forward, integrating the core functions of CA's ecoMeter datacenter infrastructure management (DCIM) system into Nimsoft Monitor, its comprehensive IT monitoring and management system. Nimsoft ecoMeter is based on the core components of CA's ecoMeter (a more comprehensive DCIM product aimed at large datacenter operators). Managers use ecoMeter to monitor and analyze real-time data about power consumption and environmental conditions, such as humidity, temperature, airflow etc.
